Marine Studios presents: Adventures in Comics 2
from 3 February 2012
After the huge success of Adventures in Comics 2011 and back by popular demand as an annual event, Marine Studios is proud to bring you ‘ADVENTURES IN COMICS 2‘. Launching on February 3 2012 we hope to bring you an amazing exhibition and a host of events, discussions and comics related goings on!
To kick things off we are inviting you to respond to our 2-page-comic-challenge. You can check out the superb quality of work we received for our 2011 ‘Mechanical Elephant‘ challenge on our blog: https://marinestudiosadventuresincomics.wordpress.com/
The task is simple, create a 2-page-comic under this year’s theme: ‘LIFE BOAT’. All ideas are welcome to inspire, amuse, terrify and entertain. There are no limits other than sticking to the 2 page rule (200 x 280 mm each page, in either portrait or landscape), and of course, don’t forget the ‘Life Boat‘.
This year’s entries will be judged by none other than Mr Paul Gravett! And I’m sure we can manage a prize or two for the top entries.
Send your entries as electronic files (jpeg, pdf, tif or eps format) with the subject ‘LIFE BOAT’ to:
Kam@hkd.uk.com or Rick@hkd.uk.com
Deadline for entries: 20 January 2012
We’ll be keeping you updated with news of talks, workshops and events that will take place over February 2012 and previewing Life Boat entries so keep glued to the AIC2 blog: https://marinestudiosadventuresincomics.wordpress.com/

Elephants take to the street

This week the Mechanical Elephants were printed largescale (A0) and pasted up in Margate, complete with their own newly painted arches. They look awesome. If you find yourselves in Margate over the next few months be sure to visit the elephant wall at the bottom of Elephant Hill (actual name)! More pics to follow soon.
