Clare Pattinson

Clare Pattinson brings us a tounge in cheek comic touching on the idea or possible ideology of the new Ukip council, Elvis still being alive, the poisioning of the seas through nuclear accidents, and the cosmopolitian mix of people who end up living in Thanet… Great work and based on the topical issues arising in our hometown of Margate.

My story is a bit weird/topical – I’ve based it on a traditional fairground called New Dreamland in the days of the freakshows, bearded ladies, the little people, dangerous people, etc, but with modern day ‘freaks’ (people who appear different from the norm). No offence is meant – I’m actually saying “we’re all a bit different and what’s ‘normal’ anyway.
