On our opening night of the show we launched a little informal competition and aksed visitors to stick a little star next to their favourite Mechanical Elephant entry. This continued throughout the show and now that Adventures in Comics has come to a close for this year, we can announce the people’s choice: MATTHEW RYAN! It was a close call but your Mechanical Elephant received the most number of votes. Great job. In recognition for your achievement we will post your full entry on our blog and no others for an entire two days! Other entries will be posted in full in due course.
Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, contributed to and supported Adventures in Comics at Marine Studios.
We had an awesome time putting the show together and meeting so many interesting and enthusiastic people. We had visitors from far and wide and received so many wonderful comments that made us blush, including:
‘Brilliant, I will be back, p.s make this an annual event and I will have a crack next year’
‘Great ideas and interesting art forms – worth a stop from France’
‘Comics have re-awakened my love for mankind’ (I might have made this last one up).
Judging from the responses we’ve had, Adventures in Comics will undoubtedly become an annual event!
We’ve also had a lot of people asking for a post exhibition catalogue/book of all the Mechanical Elephant entries. If you think this is a good idea and would be interested in buying a copy then send an email to: kam@hkd.uk.com
In the meantime we will continue to wow you with more exciting comics related material and opportunities to submit and discuss work. Stay tuned.

We were absolutely blown away by the fantastic Adventures in Comics launch night here at Marine Studios. The space was packed to the rafters and much fun was had. Thank you to everyone who attended, submitted work and supported the event, not least Mr Paul Gravett, who gave an excellent and inspiring talk. If you were silly enough to miss it, you can catch Paul this Thursday 10th at Islington Library:
